This year's Preview Party
date is set for Sunday, April 25, 2010.
The party will be held at the home of Rudy Grant and David Siders.
Guests
at this year's Preview party will truly see two showhouses for the price of one.
David E. Siders and Rudy Grant, owners of Experience
and Creative Design in Schenectady and designers for the foyer and upstairs hall
in this year's Showhouse, purchased this former two-family home in 1975. For
34 years it has been a work in progress, and its transformation into a spacious
modern home was featured in the June, 2009 issue of life at home.
What was once a detached garage has evolved into their family room, guest
bedroom, bathroom and a wet bar extending into their beautiful outdoor gardens.
An added foyer, which is filled with works of art and which now connects the
home to the former garage, carries the eye through to the back yard. The
1,100 sq. ft. kitchen, previously the first floor of the two-family home, is
separated into three conversation areas, enabling the owners to entertain with
ease. The second floor of the home, now their master suite, is a tranquil
oasis with every amenity to ensure comfort and luxury. The finished
basement creates a private retreat for overnight guests.
Viewing of the Showhouse is from 3pm-5pm, and the party is 4:30pm-7pm.
